I was talking to some grain buyers and thought I would send out some info on SY Rowyn to keep you in the loop.
For those of you who grew SY Rowyn CPS wheat this season Patterson and P&H locations have a special milling program for it. I talked to P&H (Barrie Woods at Medicine Hat 403-866-9415) and they had been paying $0.20 less than HRSW. Planning for next season, this variety has done 12-15% better than HRSW on irrigation but also has drought tolerance and will do about 15-20% better than HRSW under dry conditions. Its a good option to spread your risk for markets from other wheats. See below for a comparison to other wheat for net returns. Another option is the feed market with this higher yielding variety.
