It has been a dry start to 2021 in Southern Alberta. Dryland crops are suffering and falling behind. Irrigation crops are looking very good.
It's the SIGN time of the year! Let me know if I can look at your crop and put a sign in your field. Summer Tours with CCA Credits Both of our summer events will be happening in July. One Rye/Winter Wheat day and two days of our Annual Summer Tour. Details of the tour are below. Both tours are 0.5 Miles West & 1.5 Miles North of Enchant on RR 185 (click for google maps location) Please RSVP to [email protected] the event or date(s). Tuesday July 6th at 9 am Hybrid Rye/Winter Wheat - field day Wednesday July 21st & Thursday July 22nd at 9 am: Annual Summer Tour (same tour each day so pick 1 day) We may need to travel to a second location for the the rye tour and look at a seed production hybrid fall rye field as our plots were seeded in October and had enough wind erosion this winter that they look quite poor. Fall Crop Bookings We have had a larger than normal start to bookings of winter wheat and fall rye seed. A Flyer listing the options of fall crops is below and in a few weeks we will email out details on each varieties attributes or you can take a look here: Hybird Fall Rye or Winter Wheat Forage Crops
Soft Wheat, CPS Wheat & Winter Wheat Buyer I was contacted by a Vancouver mill buying and looking to deal directly with farmers on grain picked up in your yard. Originally they asked about Soft Wheats and CPS Wheat but I mentioned that Winter Wheat may mill like a CPS. I do not know them well so seller beware and do your due diligence ask if licensed & bonded, I looked on the CGC website and did not seed this company specially but its possible they buy under a different name.
