The Role:
  • Coordinate seed shipments with team 
  • Loading customer trucks using seed conveyors 
  • Assisting seed treating operations
  • Warehouse operations - Forklift, tote bag filling and shipping
  • Work with the seed processing team
  • Moving seed with small tractors and wagons
  • Inspecting trucks, conveyors, bins, and ensuring clean

Qualifications:

  • Seed industry or agriculture knowledge

Seed Treating Position (Spring 2025)

The purpose of this position is treating seed for customers in our seed yard for the spring 2024 shipping season (March 15 - May 31). This role has the opportunity to expand into a full time position to assist with seed cleaning and processing. 

Key components to this position will include:
  • Treating seed
  • Mixing seed treatments 
  • Cleaning seed treater
  • Scaling trucks

Class 1 Driver - Seasonal
Seeking a seasonal Class 1 driver starting August 1 2025
This position consists of operating semi trucks with a variety of trailers including super b grain, tri axle grain, and 53ft flat deck.
Skills Required:
  • Diligent in record keeping and paperwork with attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs
  • Friendly, patient & courteous to customers
Responsibilities:
  • Moving seed between bins and cleaning plant
  • Hauling seed to drill in fields
  • Hauling water to sprayer in fields
  • Hauling grain off the combines
  • Able to setup and take down of unloading conveyors
  • Follow safety and clean out protocols
  • Follow clean down procedures for trucks and conveyors to prevent contamination of seeds
  • Sampling of product
  • Weighing trucks

Seed Yard Technician

  • Recordkeeping and paperwork for seed cleaning & seed shipping / treating
  • Follow all required procedures by CSI, CFIA, CSGA
  • Follow safety protocols
  • Cleanliness of seed shipping machinery
  • Filling tote bags
  • Seed plant cleaning & basic maintenance
  • Weighing trucks
  • Treating seed during shipping season
  • Sampling, receiving grain products
  • Shipping product in containers
  • Loading van trailers using a forklift and pallet jack

General Farm Operations 

Full Time &
Seasonal - April 1 - Oct 30

Skills Required:
  • Experienced in operation of farm equipment
  • Diligent in record keeping and paperwork with attention to detail
  • High School Diploma or higher education
  • Class 5 license is mandatory, Class 1 license an asset
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs
  • Friendly, patient & courteous to customers
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Follow on farm safety protocols
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment
  • Weighing and loading trucks
  • Operate farm equipment (land rolling, mowing, tillage work, seeding, spraying, harvesting equipment, various trucking and hauling, operating forklift etc.  
  • Various yard jobs (clean shops, clean bins, etc.)
  • ​Aiding in seed yard shipping as needed
  • Helping with field operations relating to monitoring crops and pivots 
  • Habitat development (maintenance of trees)
  • Construction projects
 
Some longer days are needed at busy times of the year but the seasonal nature of the business provides flexibility.

Summer Students

We hire 3-4 summer students per season both high school & post secondary.

Role may include:
  • walking pedigree seed crops for off types
  • seed blending
  • summer tour hosting
  • helping the farm crew
  • mowing
  • washing
  • filling totes
  • plan for projects with other staff
  • general farm work

Summer students learn the day to day operations on a seed farm and help plan and produce seed crops.
Some longer days are needed at busy times of the year.
Must be able to lift 55 lbs
Class 5 drivers license or higher required.
Flexible work plan - some summer students plan for 2 -3 months of the summer instead of the full 4 months and others have stayed on until the end of October. Others are able to start April 1.
