Pea Fractionation Plants

I went to Phyto Organix grower meetings this week. They are planning to build a 40,000 MT pea protein plant at Strathmore. These types of facilities will change the types of pea varieties we are growing and the pea market in general. This season we will have CDC Lewochko yellow pea along with AAC Chrome and AAC Delhi. CDC Lewochko is a new higher protein variety with good yields and lodging resistance. AAC Julius is 1.5 years away and has small seed size, top yields, lodging resistance and high protein.
