Corn and Soybean

If you are a new grower, or already grow soybeans, we have some top yielding varieties if you want to give them a try or see how they fit on your farm.
Grazing corn acres are also on the rise and irrigated grain and silage corn seems to be relatively slow to flat growth

Corn
Grain Corn

• 2075-2500 CHU varieties suited for western Canada
• RIB (Refuge In Bag) RR or non BT RR varieties
• organic and or conventional (non RR) corn seed available also​

Silage Corn

• winning silage yield trials with good quality and growing in acres in Alberta every season
• 2250 - 2750 CHU varieties suited for western Canada
• organic and conventional (non RR) corn seed available also

• TH 2146 RR was a top preforming variety in 2016 at Picture Butte and is 2250 CHU (chart at bottom)

• BrettYoung varieties from Elite have shown great results in silage trials
  • In 2016 at Vauxhall Venza RR was the top yielding variety in the trial and is a 2400 CHU variety.

Grazing Corn

• for the cattle farmer wanting to expand the grazing season into winter.
• TH 4188 RR has been a good one for our customers from Thunder Seeds for those with a long season
  • Shorter season some have used 4126 RR
• Venza RR for long season or Yukon R would be good choices from Elite
