AAC Bright Yellow Flax, New Crop Opportunities

​We have been able to seed one field of DL Rico Faba beans last week on Thursday. Hoping to start again on peas this week as we had about 2" of snow on Friday night. Seed treating and shipping has been steady, the biggest concern has been maintaining the 6' buffer between ourselves & yourselves or your employees to help reduce the risk of spread.
Below I will talk about new crop yellow flax opportunities, in addition to a few new varieties available. 

Nothing is more important than the well-being of our staff and the customers we serve. We are still open for seed pickup but our office & scale house are now closed during seed pickup due to COVID-19 effective immediately. Please pass along to your staff who will be picking up seed or custom truckers.

• Office & scale house are closed during seed pickup and our office is closed to all visitors.
• Please observe 6'+ buffer room between yourself (or staff) and our staff.
• A portable restroom for customers & truckers is available across from our front office. Handles will be sanitized multiple times a day.
• We will be happy to get you a paper coffee cup, pop, juice or water and bring it out to you. We are unable to refill reusable mugs.
• When you arrive please park outside our front office and give us a moment to come out to you.
• When scaling please stay in your truck and we will bring paperwork to you.
• Please use your own pen if you can on paperwork or keep our pen that you sign with.

  • Symptoms for COVID-19 are similar to those for influenza or other respiratory illnesses. The most common symptoms include:

Yellow Flax - New Crop Contracts
AAC Bright is a variety that is light & bright in looks and also stands well.
CDC Dorado is an early season, high ALA oil content variety.

FB 9-4 (Malik) - Tannin Faba Bean
FB 9-4 is a large seeded Faba Bean making it more difficult to seed and 4-5 bu per ac is needed to get 4 plants per square foot.

Maple Pea
AAC Liscard – Top Maple Pea for yield & standability.
I have some customers who are growing on spec, I was offered $9 per bu on some excess inventory of this variety for May / June delivery.
 
Lentil
CDC Proclaim - Small Red
Top Yielding small red lentil with good grade retention.
There are many buyers for lentils in the market place and i have noticed some 0.24 cent new crop bids.
