Durum Variety Options 2025

As with all varieties we carry, the options available have expanded over the years and there are some specific varieties you should or should not grow based on the situation:

• Dryland farmers you have a few options:
  • The 2 solid Stem:
    • AAC Grainland Durum - best when very dry (my pick for most years in S AB/SK)
    • AAC Stronghold Durum - best medium to wet areas (over 50 bu it is better vs some others)
  • Hollow Stem:
    • AAC Schrader Durum - I for FHB
    • AAC Succed VB Durum - up to 5 days earlier with midge resistance
• Irrigation farms
  • AAC Schrader Durum - I for FHB, needs a PGR on irrigation, was our highest yielding durum for seed production in 2024
  • AAC Stronghold Durum - stands and consistent high yields
  • AAC Succed VB Durum - up to 5 days earlier with midge resistance and stands great
