2026 Fall Rye Boot Stage Forage Cuts Are In!

Our fall crop demo plots were seeded September 18 2025
Blair took boot stage cuts on the fall rye plots on May 28th and 29th 2026. Boot stage cuts are done to capture top quality for hybrid rye silage
Exp B, KWS Aviator, KWS Exp 101 and 102 were taken on May 28th
EXP B was 3 days ahead at boot and at flowering, vs all of the other varieties (Aviator, EXP 101 and EXP 102)

KWS Serafino, KWS Attainer, KWS Receptor, KWS Inspirator, SU Perspective, SU Performer, SU Cossani and AC Hazlet were all taken on May 29th ahead of the rain system that hit right after

The plots that read a little lower on tonnage values do not reflect variety but poorer plant stand in some plots.

Next cut will be milk stage cuts which will be towards the end of the month of June
