Seed treating is in full swing with 3-10 pickups per day. I think there may be a few people trying to seed a few acres this week.
For those wanting to take advantage of the feed barley markets, we have AB Cattlelac 6 Row Barley (top yields for grain & a semi-smooth awn for forage use) or CDC Austenson 2 Row Barley an industry standard.
The feed wheat market is high as well and soft wheats are flexible in use.
AAC Awesome VB General Purpose soft wheat is a top yielding GP class that can be used for feed, ethanol & forage. If you use AFSC crop insurance don't forget to elect for the class of soft wheat you are growing!
AAC Paramount VB soft wheat is a replacement for AAC Sadash VB. AAC Paramount VB SWSW can be used for milling, distilling, feed, forage & ethanol.

Farming With Wildlife Habitat
Layne Seward, Biologist with Alberta Conservation Association
We farm land around this habitat project and have worked with the land owners and associations like Layne's to integrate farming & habitat enhancement. Learn how bird and other animal numbers have increased and what that means and how you can do small changes around your own farm to best benefit habitat.
